Editorial standards
Clear sourcing. Clear dates. Clear limits.

Evidence before publication
Stories need identifiable primary sources and an explicit publication approval. Unverified drafts are excluded from the published site, search, feeds and sitemap. Sources and reporting notes appear at the end of each article.
Announcements are attributed
A company’s announcement is evidence of what it announced. It is not independent confirmation of performance, savings, safety, durability or market leadership. We attribute such claims and avoid presenting marketing language as established fact.
The legal stage is part of the story
Recommendations, introduced bills, enacted laws, effective rules and enforcement guidance are different. Legal coverage identifies the jurisdiction and relevant stage when known. Summaries are not legal advice; readers should check the linked authority for requirements that apply to them.
News dates and publication dates
Publication dates show when a Tint News story was published. Source dates and event dates are separately identified when material. A newly published summary of an older development should not imply that the underlying event just happened. Substantive updates receive an update date.
Research has limits
A laboratory result, simulation, pilot and widely available commercial product are not interchangeable. Research coverage should preserve the study’s scope and avoid turning a reported result into a universal performance claim.
AI assistance and accountability
AI tools assist the preparation of this publication. They can make mistakes. We do not invent interviews, quotations, expert reviewers, on-site observations or independent tests. The original sources remain available so readers can evaluate the reporting. See our corrections policy for how substantive errors and changes are recorded.
